When Nathan Manske, a free lance editor and copywriter from Driftwood, Texas (although he has lived in Brooklyn, New York since 2003) saw the film Milk, he, like many others, felt inspired. Having seen a picture of Harvey Milk during a Pride march holding a sign stating “I’m From Woodmere, N.Y.” For Manske, the sign meant " that there are gay people in every small town and every big city across America and the world." His response was to create I’m from Driftwood, a website compiling the stories of LGBT people from all over the world in the hope that those that feel alone in this world, can see that they are not.
