LGBT History Month featured big time in The Independent on Sunday’s Pink List 2010. The Month’s Co Chair Sue Sanders came in at number 53 and one of its patrons, Gareth Thomas shared the no. 1 spot with Mary Portas.
The annual list of who’s who in the LGB world in the UK began in the IoS in 2000 and has become as significant as the 100 richest list in the Sunday Times, although questions have been raised about its hierarchical nature and whether there is a need for it at all.
Friend of LGBT History Month Clare Dimyon – whose diary entries of her tour of European Prides have featured in our newsblog - took 63rd place. LGBT History Month patron John Amaechi was among the judges, alongside Clare Balding, Diva editor Jane Czyzselska, Ben Summerskill, Ben Bradshaw and others.
