The September edition of BBC Radio 4's Bookclub, presented by James Naughtie will be discussing Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin, the first in a serie of six books which began as a column in the San Francisco Chronicle in the mid-70s. Maupin created a utopian community that embraced all the sexual variety the city had to offer.
